Spring to Spring Trail
Owner/Location: Volusia County
Design of 3.4 miles of 12 foot wide Multi-Use Trail. This project included close coordination with Florida Department of Environmental Protection since a portion of the alignment was on land owned by them. The permitting efforts included St. Johns River Water Management District, Volusia County Environmental Department and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. A meandering alignment was designed for the trail in order to closely follow the natural topography of the land, avoid the existing substantial trees and minimize the impact to the existing wetlands. In addition, the Engineers Estimate proved to be in the middle range of the bids received from the contractors at the bid opening. Technical specifications and informational signage were provided for the project as well.
