Horizon Engineering Group was responsible for overall project management, post design services, trail design, roadway design, drainage design, maintenance of traffic, signing and pavement marking plans, public involvement and permitting efforts. Preparation of technical specifications, bid items and construction cost estimates were included.

Casselberry Greenway Trail (formally Wirz Trail)

MULTI - USE  TRAIL PROJECTS

Spring to Spring Trail

Horizon served as Project Manager and Engineer of Record for the design of 3.4 miles of multi-use trail. The project began at the entrance to Blue Springs State Park and connected to Lake Beresford Park. The alignment provided a meandering alignment through FDEP and Volusia County property. The trail design minimized the impact to the existing trees and wetland. Permitting including SJRWMD, ACOE and Volusia County with mitigation provided by a local mitigation bank.

Orlando Urban Trail (formally Dinky Line Trail)

The staff at Horizon served as Project Manager and Engineer of Record for the design and permitting of approximately 1000’ of multi-use recreational trail. Project included a 450’ boardwalk over Lake Formosa and connections to local neighborhoods and sidewalks. Permitting effort included SJRWMD permit and preparation of an on-site mitigation area. Project will provide a vital link to the downtown area and will be part of the Lake Formosa Loop.
