Engineering Technician

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree Preferred; Associates degree or equivalent,
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience is required.
  • Working understanding of engineering concepts required.
  • Experience reading engineering plans required.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in team environment is required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and overtime as required.
  • Ability to work on multiple task assignments with variety of schedules simultaneously.
  • Previous knowledge / experience with MicroStation preferred.
  • Ability and experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical engineering support on project assignments as designated by project manager.
  • Conduct plan reviews to determine points of conflict within plan sets and identification of missing items.
  • Review plans, provide comments and ensure that they are completed.
  • Review plans for completeness, accuracy and complete constructability review.
  • Assist with the preparation of materials for presentation and/or meetings.
  • Attendance at presentation and/or meetings and providing meeting minutes packages.
  • Complete project research (including field review) to identify project stakeholders and existing information.
  • Coordinate with multiple entities to gather information required.
  • Develop document packages (i.e. letters, spreadsheets, plans) for submittal to multiple agencies.
  • Assist with the development of plans for projects using drafting tools (i.e. MicroStation).
  • Assist with the development of cost estimates and engineering specifications for a project.
  • Develop and write quality project documentation (letters, reports, summaries, etc.) for project manager.
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, outside agencies to identify, define and solve problems.
  • Develop schedule for project activities and ensure compliance to beating time provided.Communicate effectively and clearly with project manager, senior staff, clients and outside agencies.


Utility Coordinator

Requirements:

  • 2-4 yrs experience of FDOT utility coordination
  • Recent FDOT experience
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Flexibility in wide array of tasks given
  • Familiarity with Microstation/Geopak Software a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Complete utility coordination in conjunction with FDOT Policies and Procedures.
  • Identification of existing utilities and coordinating with utility owners.
  • Identification of utility conflicts and coordination with engineer of record on the development of the utility conflict matrix.
  • Prepare, submit and coordinate utility contact packages.
  • Hold utility coordination meetings and provide meeting packages.
  • Prepare and submit all necessary agreements required for the project.
  • Assist the utility agencies with the development of the utility work schedules.
  • Review marked plans, utility work schedule for completeness and accuracy and complete constructability review.
  • Ensure all utility impacts are resolve and all necessary utility accommodations are complete.
  • Provide required documentation (schedule, status reports, certification, etc.) to project manager.
  • Assist with project pursuits (LOI, ELOI, Technical Proposals, Presentations, etc).
  • Review utility permit packages for impacts to existing project and providing recommendation.


CADD Technician

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience with a civil engineering consulting firm
  • Working knowledge and experience with ACAD or Microstation required
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude
  • Ability to work independently and with a team

Responsibilities:

  • Generate Roadway Plans
  • Signing and Pavement Marking Plans
  • Drainage Plans and details.
  • The person in this position will use Microstation,GEOPAK, Autocadd and FDOT tools in the preparation of these plans.


Roadway Project Engineer

Requirements:

  • PE License
  • 4+ yrs experience
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Recent FDOT experience
  • Strong Microstation/GEOPAK software experience a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Perform a wide array of roadway and highway design calculations
  • Prepare design reports Oversee and assist drafting staff in plan production
  • Assist with project pursuits (LOI, ELOI, Technical Proposals, Presentations, etc)


Roadway Project Engineering Intern

Requirements:

  • EI Certificate
  • 1-2 yrs experience
  • Recent FDOT experience
  • Strong Microstation/GEOPAK software experience a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Perform a wide array of roadway and highway design calculations
  • Prepare construction plans consistent with FDOT standards Microstation Drafting


Senior Drainage Engineer

Requirements:

  • B.S. in engineering with at least 6 years post graduate experience
  • Registered Florida PE
  • Well versed in FDOT design standards and criteria related to both drainage design and plans production; able to interpret and apply technical information contained in procedures and manuals to accomplish the design process for assigned projects
  • Ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team to meet challenging design and schedule requirements
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Knowledge of ERP permitting requirement with water management districts throughout the state
  • Proficiency with Microstation, GEOPAK Drainage, ASAD, ICPR, PONDS, HY-8, WSPRO, HEC-RAS software
  • Experienced in the development of BHRs including scour analyses

Responsibilities:

  • Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of conveyance systems, analysis and design of cross drains, design of storm water management facilities, floodplain compensation analysis
  • Design and inspection of best management practices for erosion and sediment control
  • Prepare technical documents including drainage reports, pond siting reports, bridge hydraulics reports and permitting documents with minimal oversight
  • Prepare construction plans consistent with FDOT standards
  • Assist with QC of construction plans and design documents generated by other team members
  • Assist with project pursuits (LOI, ELOI, Technical Proposals, Presentations, Manhours, etc)


Drainage Engineering Intern

Requirements:

  • EI Certificate
  • 2-4 yrs experience
  • Recent FDOT experience
  • Familiar with Microstation, GEOPAK Drainage, ASAD, ICPR, PONDS, HY-8, HEC-RAS desirable
  • BHR including scour analysis a plus
